This family recently moved to Plainfield, Illinois and I met them at their beautiful new house for some family pictures. They have a beautiful lake and walking path right behind their house so we walked the trail a bit to find some good places for pictures. The light was creamy, dreamy, and absolutely perfect! Plus, how adorable are these girls?!

I was scrolling Pinterest the other day looking for something fun to do with my two boys this Easter and came across a beautiful and different way to dye Easter Eggs with Cool Whip. Seemed easy enough so I figured we could give it a try. What could go wrong with some Cool Whip and neon food colors? Apparently, nothing!
All you need is two containers of Cool Whip, vinegar, neon food coloring, rubber gloves, a toothpick, and a sheet pan. We used rubber gloves so the dye didn’t stain our fingers. Boil the eggs, let them cool, then soak in vinegar for about 15 minutes. Spread the Cool Whip out along the sheet pan and drop in food coloring around the pan around an inch apart. Don’t be afraid of using too much color like I was! Because the more color you use, the more vibrant and colorful your eggs will be. When you are done spreading around colors, grab your toothpick and run it up and down the pan to swirl the colors around.
Dry the eggs, put on your gloves, and roll each egg through the colors until it is covered. Set each egg on a paper towel and allow to dry for 30 minutes. Then rinse off with water and voila! Beautiful and edible Easter eggs!
This was a super easy Easter activity that my boys loved doing with me. My only regret is that I didn’t think to grab my “real” camera until halfway through the process. I love the pretty pastel watercolor look on the finished eggs and will definitely be doing this every year!
Lilacia Park in Lombard, Illinois is BEAUTIFUL! The lilacs start to bloom at the beginning of May and it is something you will not want to miss seeing – and smelling! There are lilacs, tulips, and so many other beautiful blooms. Lilacia Park is perfect for maternity sessions, family sessions, and Senior sessions.
This was my very first time seeing this park and it is even more beautiful in person. The flowers are so fragrant and vibrant, it’s easily my favorite park now. If you live near Lombard, it is a must see park. You can find out more information about the park and events by clicking here.
