Winter Courthouse Wedding in Woodstock, Illinois {Romeoville, Illinois Wedding Photographer}
I have been asked many times to photograph weddings but I always referred them out to other photographers in the area because I didn’t feel like they were right for me. I was intimidated by weddings and having never been a second shooter, I didn’t know what to expect. When my friend Alyssa asked me to photograph her small civil ceremony and reception at La Petit Creperie afterwards, I reluctantly agreed. I will be forever indebted to Alyssa and Phillip for trusting me to photograph their beautiful day because I found a love for weddings that I never expected. I didn’t expect to fall in love with the atmosphere, to be touched by all the laughter, smiles, and genuine happiness for the couple. I certainly didn’t expect to get teary-eyed a few times, especially when the groom had to stop and recompose himself a few times during his speech. I am so glad that I agreed to do this because I learned that I want to photograph love at every chance I get.
I just love the looks they are giving each other! He looks happy and proud, she looks shy but excited =)
The Woodstock square was a gorgeous setting for some quick photos before the luncheon.
The luncheon was at La Petite Creperie in Woodstock, Illinois. Everyone there was so friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was cozy and warm. If you are ever in the area, definitely stop in for some amazing food!
Then it started snowing so we went outside one last time for a few more shots in the snow, despite the fact that it was only about 8 degrees out!
I loved how the bride added so many beautiful vintage elements into her wedding, including this beautiful handmade bouquet.
Are they excited to be married or what? 😉
Alyssa and Phillip, I loved being part of your day. Thank you for choosing me as your photographer.
